NO SPOILERS!! TRUST ME!
I recently just finished Identical by one of my favorite authors Ellen Hopkins, and was blown away. No lie, the first words out of my mouth were "OH MY GOD." when I finished. I very rarely find a tale like this beautiful gem, and I am so ecstatic when I happened to stumble upon it, between in the beautiful aisles of Books-A-Million. Only a handful of authors have ever been able to leave me this awestruck, and the wonderful Mrs. Hopkins is on the topped off this list. I am in love with her writing style and her gorgeous but highly tragic true-to-life stories. I have yet to hate a protagonist, even though every time they do something reckless, I mentally scream at them... But anyways, back to Identical, I love the charaters in this, besides the twin's creepy dad and Mick, Reanne's creepy boyfriend/drug supplier, but they don't really count. I adore the ending, and i wish every book would leave me like this one did; I couldn't clear my head for the thoughts swirling through my head,
"I try to sleep. but thoughts whirl through my skull, cerebral tornadoes" Did you see what I did there?
To explain my reaction in one word: WOW.
I am still amazed by the ending of this creative novel, and I will surely never ever forget it.
After i flipped the last page, i began to text my poor friend, about the wonders of this book, and my insane reactions i preformed shortly after. this friend however didn't understand a word I was saying...(typing?) and probably didn't even care about my amazement.
'WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE, YOU BEAUTIFUL REFLECTIVE-COVERED BOOK!?"
So, yes, it is offical, I have changed my favorite Ellen Hopkins book from Burned to Identical, for various reasons.
oh and sorry for any mistakes or bad spelling... tsk tsk...
